Bomb scene examination with case examples

Invited Speaker: First Class Constable Steve Denholm (Tas Police)

First Class Constable Steve Denholm has been attached to the Ballistics Section for over 20 years and since 1997 has been the state manager for the bomb scene examination capability. This role has a national responsibility and comes under the Australian & New Zealand Counter Terrorism Committee (ANZCTC). This group is responsible the pre/post blast examination of improvised explosive devices and criminal and non-criminal explosions. During this time Steve has attended a number of explosions and coordinated/participated in over 32 training exercises or workshops. This includes roles as a course director, umpire, and course/workshop writer. Currently he is the Assistant Capability Adviser to the ANZCTC which involves overviewing all the Australian police agencies BSE training, funding and exercises.
